How we work & FAQs
The answers, before you have to ask.
A new kitchen or bathroom is a considered decision, and most people have the same questions before they commit. Here's how a Unique project runs from free survey to finished room — and honest answers to what clients ask most.
Step by step
From free survey to finished room.
Five clear stages, each with something concrete you receive along the way.
01
Free home survey
We visit, measure the room and talk through how you use it and what you want to change.
You get: a clear brief and honest first-thoughts — no charge, no obligation.
02
Free 3D CAD design
We turn the brief into a 3D visualisation and refine the layout, doors, colour and finishes with you.
You get: a 3D design to walk through, plus a clear, itemised quote (Price Match Promise applies).
03
Sign-off & scheduling
Once you’re happy with the design and quote, we lock in the details and book your installation dates.
You get: confirmed dates and a single point of contact for the whole project.
04
Managed installation
Our own team fits the room end-to-end — electrics, gas, plastering, plumbing, worktops, tiling and flooring, in the right order.
You get: one coordinated team to one schedule, keeping disruption to a minimum.
05
Sign-off & guarantee
We walk the finished room with you, sort any snags, and hand over your guarantees.
You get: a 6-year component guarantee and a 2-year workmanship guarantee.
Common questions
Frequently asked.
Do you design and fit, or just supply?
+
Both — and it's all in-house. We design your kitchen or bathroom, supply the units, worktops and fittings, and our own team installs it end-to-end. That includes the trades most companies subcontract: NICEIC-certified electrical work, Gas Safe registered gas work, plastering, structural work, plumbing, tiling and flooring. You deal with one team from the first 3D design to the final tile, rather than being passed between a designer, a supplier and a fitter.
Is the 3D design really free?
+
Yes. We offer a free 3D CAD design visualisation as standard, along with a free, no-obligation home survey. You get to walk through your new kitchen or bathroom on screen — layout, door style, colour and finishes — before you commit to anything or spend a penny. We'd rather you take your time and get it right.
How does getting a quote work?
+
It starts with a free home survey, where we measure the room and talk through how you use it. We then produce your free 3D design and present a clear, itemised quote with no hidden extras — clients often mention the pricing being straightforward with no nasty surprises. Every like-for-like quote is backed by our Price Match Promise, so you can compare with confidence.
What is a kitchen makeover, and how much can it save?
+
If your units are structurally sound but the kitchen looks tired, a makeover replaces the doors, worktops and taps while keeping the existing carcasses. It transforms the look without the cost or mess of a full rip-out — saving up to 50% against a full refit, and typically completed in just two to three days.
What guarantees do you offer?
+
Every fitted component carries a 6-year guarantee, and we back the installation itself with a 2-year workmanship guarantee on top. Because the electrics are certified by NICEIC-registered electricians and the gas work by Gas Safe registered engineers, that side of the job is properly signed off too.
Do you install bathrooms as well as kitchens?
+
Yes — bathrooms are a full part of what we do, designed and installed as fully managed, end-to-end projects. That covers family bathrooms, master en-suites, guest and children's bathrooms, wet room conversions, cloakrooms and accessible, adapted bathrooms, in industrial-style, traditional and modern designs. As with our kitchens, it's one team handling plumbing, electrics, tiling, flooring and finishing.
Which brands do you use?
+
We fit Neff and other leading appliances, Franke sinks and taps, and use quality materials from Kronospan. For flooring — as part of the Unique Group, which includes a flooring division — we supply and fit Polyflor, Karndean and Amtico luxury vinyl and engineered wood. We'll always steer you toward what genuinely suits your room and how it's used.
Which areas do you cover?
+
We're based on Shelton New Road in Stoke-on-Trent and design and install across Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Nantwich, Crewe, Stone, Stafford, Cheadle, Alsager and the surrounding Staffordshire and Cheshire villages. If you're just outside that, ask anyway — we'll happily arrange a free home survey and let you know if it's a fit.
Question not answered here?
Just ask — there's no such thing as a daft question about a kitchen or bathroom, and we'd rather talk it through properly before anyone commits to anything.
